About Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery
Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery focuses on conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, duodenum, gallbladder and bile ducts. At Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, formal hepatobiliary surgical practice has been organized since 2017. Today, the unit brings together specialist expertise to assess and treat patients from Ghana and across the West African subregion, with a commitment to thoughtful, comprehensive care.

We are committed to compassionate, comprehensive care for people living with liver, pancreatic and biliary diseases across Ghana and West Africa. Surgeons work alongside oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, interventional radiologists, anaesthetists and other physician specialists to plan care around each patient’s needs. Through research, multidisciplinary collaboration and the training of future surgeons, we strive to improve outcomes and quality of life for the communities we serve.
