About Us

Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery is a branch of surgical specialization responsible for the treatment of surgical diseases of the liver, pancreas, duodenum, gallbladder and biliary system.

Formal practice of hepatobiliary surgery has been organized in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital since 2017.

The hepatobiliary unit uses multi-disciplinary team approach to provide continuous care to our patients.

A team of surgeons, gastroenterologists, radiologists, interventional radiologists and anaesthetists meet every Monday afternoon to discuss and recommend the most suitable treatment option for all our patients.

The hepatobiliary surgery unit admits inpatients to the third-floor ward of the surgical block in Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The HPB unit is made up of nurses and doctors who dedicate extra time beyond their normal shift hours to provide service to patients
